The Manaslu Valley Tsum Valley trek spans 20 days and combines two remote regions—the Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley—both located in the Gorkha district of Nepal. Centred around the majestic Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m), the eighth highest peak in the world, this trek offers a blend of historical sites, cultural significance, and dramatic alpine scenery. The altitude ranges from 600 m to 5,160 m.

Tsum Valley, often referred to as the Hidden Valley of Happiness, was restricted to trekkers before 2008. Also, this region is deeply influence by Tibetan Buddhist culture, featuring ancient monasteries, chortens, and mani walls. This trek provides a culturally immersive experience in villages such as Chhekampar, Mu Gompa, and Samagaon, alongside stunning Himalayan landscapes. Additionally, the area was consider a conservation zone in 1998 to protect its unique flora and fauna. Unlike the more commercialised routes of Annapurna or Everest, this region remains untouched by modernisation.

Highlights

– Breathtaking views of Mount Manaslu, Himalchuli, Ganesh Himal, and Shringi Himal

– Exploration of the spiritually significant Tsum Valley

– Visits to ancient Buddhist monasteries

– Discover traditional stone houses, mani walls, prayer wheels, and suspension bridges

Duration, Difficulty, Accommodation & Essentials

The Manaslu Circuit Tsum Valley Trek lasts 20 days, including acclimatisation and exploration. With 16 days of trekking and rest, the trek is consider to be challenging, primarily due to the altitude, remoteness, and the crossing of high passes. Also, Accommodation in the Tsum Valley is basic, consisting of teahouses and homestays, often with shared facilities. While the Manaslu circuit offers more established teahouses with improved amenities, be aware that electricity and Wi-Fi access are limited and unreliable, making solar charging often necessary in the region.
